MEDITATION AND BUDDHISM

Insight Meditation Center

IMC is a community-based meditation center in Redwood City, CA for the practice of Insight meditation guided by Gil Fronsdal and Andrea Fella.

I will strongly recommend Gil Fronsdal talk. It is insightful, grounded and practical. You can use his suggested teachings in everyday life.

These are the recordings of the complete collection of all the talks by Ajahn Chah that have been translated into English and are published in 'The Collected Teachings of Ajahn Chah', 2011. This was read by Ajahn Amaro during the winter of 2012. (www.amaravati.org)

All the talks are more gear towards speaking to the monastics. If you find you struggling with your meditation practise, the talks come really handy too. I personally like the really grounded way of his teaching.     One of my fav

Against the Stream

Dharma talks by Noah Levine, author of Dharma Punx and Against the Stream, and other teachers at Against the Stream Buddhist Meditation Society in Los Angeles and elsewhere.

I find Levine's talk very approachable and make total sense to the layman who may not know anything about Buddhism. For your information, he was a recovered drug addicts.

Talks at Amaravati

Amaravati Buddhist Monastery was established by Ajahn Sumedho as a place where Dhamma teachings would be easily available to interested in them.

Vipassana Meditation

Vipassana is a way of self-transformation through self-observation. It focuses on the deep interconnection between mind and body, which can be experienced directly by disciplined attention to the physical sensations that form the life of the body.

Its a highly recommended practise. Vipassana have changed my life in such deep and positive ways that I can't help but keep offering others a peek into it.
